Shaykh Abdulrahman Bashir

Sh. Abdulrahman Bashir serves as a faculty member at the Qalam Seminary.

Born and raised in Miami, FL, Imam Abdur Rahman Bashir began his religious education at Jamiatul Uloomil Islamiyah in Karachi, Pakistan. He continued his studies at the Institute of Islamic Education in Dewsbury, England, where he completed his ʿĀlimiyyah, graduating as valedictorian in 2000. During his time in Dewsbury, he also completed a takhaṣṣuṣ in tajwīd and the ʿasharah qirāʾāt (ten modes of recitation).
He has served as religious director of the Jefferson Muslim Association in New Orleans, LA, from 2001 to 2006 and again from 2011 to 2016, gaining extensive experience in community leadership while working with diverse age groups and demographics. Since 2017, he has served as religious director of the Islamic Association of Allen in Allen, TX, and also serves as an instructor at Taqwa Seminary in Plano, Texas
